Kirsten
Cole-MacMurray has been training animals since 1980.
From family pets to large livestock, she has worked with animals
in
many different areas.
In Junior College, she earned her two-year Animal Science Degree
and was a member of the Beef Show Team and Rodeo Team. At
California State University, Northridge, she earned her
Bachelors Degree in Anthropology, specializing in
Primatology. She volunteered her time at the International Center
for
Gibbon Studies, where she helped care for and studied twenty-plus
Gibbons and a family
of Siamangs.
Kirsten Cole-MacMurray
has been competing in Agility since 1994.
Her dogs agility honors cover four agility organizations,
AKC, ASCA (Australian Shepherd Club of America),
NADAC, and USDAA. She has qualified multiple dogs for and
competed at three USDAA and six AKC National Agility
Championships, as well as competed at ten
National Australian Shepherd Specialties.
Her Australian Shepherds are consistently ranked in the top ten
of the agility standings in AKC, USASA
(United States Australian Shepherd Association), and ASCA.
Kirsten has completed her AKC Master Agility Championship
(MACH) and has two NADAC/ASCA Agility Trial Champions.
Kirsten
has also trained and/or competed with a variety of
other breeds, including a Cocker Spaniel, Doberman Pincher,
Irish Water Spaniel, Miniature Poodle, Border Terrier, Bichon
Frise, Border Collie, Golden Retriever, Flat Coat Retriever, Chesepeake
Bay Retriever and a Whippet.
In addition to
Agility, all of Kirsten's dogs are trained and compete in
herding, obedience and conformation. Her Australian Shepherd,
Caelin, won the 1998, 2001, 2003 and 2004 ASCA National
Specialty Most Versatile Australian Shepherd Competition, and
she has had two dogs in the top ten Most Versatile at the 1997,
1999,
2001, 2004, and 2006 ASCA National Specialties. Caelin has been
in the Top 7 Most Versatile in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003,2004
and 2005. Earning Qualifying scores in Both rounds of agility,
obedience and on all three stock; sheep, cattle, and ducks.
Caelin
was also First Runner Up in the 2000 AKC Australian Shepherd Specialty
Most Versatile Competition, earning qualifying scores and placements
in Herding, Obedience and Agility.
Kirsten has Finished Five ASCA Herding Championships
(WTCH), one AKC Herding Champion, and one ASCA Performance Champion.
She has Qualified her dogs for the ASCA Stock Dog Finals, ASCA
Obedience Finals, and ASCA Agility Finals.
